Rick Thomas, Senior ConsultantRick Thomas recently joined Leora Consulting in 2011 after 28 years in investment banking in the Pacific Northwest. From 2000-2010, Rick was Senior Vice President for Wells Fargo Brokerage Services, and was responsible for all tax-exempt financing in Washington State, and certain corporate and real estate financing nationally. He will be responsible for consulting to municipalities, non-profits, conduits, and banks for Leora. Rick has acted as lead investment banker in creating a wide variety of innovative tax-exempt and taxable financing structures for municipal and corporate borrowers throughout the nation. In addition to acting as investment banker for major municipal and non-profit issuers, he has substantial experience in variable rate debt transactions, structured and project finance, and a variety of complex refunding structures and derivative products. Rick has acted as lead investment banker on billions of dollars of financing for many issuers, including the Washington Economic Development Finance Authority, Washington State Housing Finance Commission, City of Seattle, Dulles International Airport, a wide variety of for-profit and non-profit borrowers (healthcare, high education, housing and others), the State of Washington, the State of Nevada, the State of Alaska, Virginia Mason Medical Center/ Benaroya Research Center, the City of Olympia, the and many others. He has a law degree from the University of Denver and graduated with a degree in Finance from Florida State University. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association. Education | |
