Miriam Sevy, President and Founder

Miriam Sevy is President and Founder of Leora Consulting Group LLC. She and her colleagues incorporated Leora Consulting Group LLC in March of 1999. Ms. Sevy brings 24 years of experience to Leora Consulting -- both as a financial advisor and as a commercial and investment banker. As a managing underwriter and financial advisor, Ms. Sevy has successfully closed municipal bond transactions totaling more than $2 billion. This includes bonds issued for such diverse clients as the Puget Sound Schools Risk Management Pool; the Cities of Seattle, Tacoma and Spokane; the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; King County, the Municipality of Anchorage, Alaska and the States of Washington and Alaska. Ms. Sevy’s public sector financial advisory and consulting clients include the Washington State Housing Finance Commission, the Museum of Flight Public Development Authority, the City of Tacoma, Tacoma Public Utilities – Water Division, as well as a number of non-profit organizations including:

Ms. Sevy has extensive experience with complex pooled and cross-collateralized transactions. Her recent experience includes letter of credit-backed variable rate demand note and commercial paper transactions. Most recently she was manager of Northwest public finance for O'Brien Partners. Previously she also was a Vice President at Seattle-Northwest Securities Corporation and Smith Mitchell Investment Group as well as a loan officer at Rainier National Bank. Ms. Sevy has also taught finance and investment in the Department of Economics and Finance at Seattle University and at Pacific Lutheran University.

Ms. Sevy is a member of the national board and currently serves as a Treasurer of the American Liver Foundation.  Ms. Sevy is also a board member and finance committee member of the Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason and has served as co-chair of the Seattle Jewish Film Festival, and as a board member for the Academy of Finance  (Seattle Public Schools).
